Our approach

Bredell Tutoring Academy is a tutor centre, not a school. Learners do not wear uniforms, but we expect all learners to dress in a way that supports a focused learning environment, safety, and mutual respect.

The dress code applies to all learners attending the centre and helps create a calm, distraction-free space where everyone feels comfortable.

General expectations

  • Clothing must be neat, clean, and comfortable
  • Outfits must be suitable for a learning environment
  • Closed shoes are recommended for safety
  • Hair should be neat and kept out of the eyes where possible

What is allowed

  • Casual wear such as t-shirts, long-sleeve tops, jeans, leggings, shorts (knee-length)
  • Sneakers, takkies, or other comfortable closed shoes
  • Warm jerseys or jackets during cold weather
  • Caps or hats outdoors (to be removed indoors)

What is not permitted

  • Clothing with offensive language, images, or slogans
  • Revealing or inappropriate clothing (very short shorts, crop tops, see-through items)
  • Slippers, flip-flops, or unsafe footwear
  • Excessive jewellery that may cause distraction or injury

Special activities

For certain activities (outings, events, physical activities, or special days), parents may be informed of additional clothing requirements in advance.

Respect & values

As a faith- and values-based centre, we ask learners to dress in a way that reflects respect for themselves, others, and the learning space.

If a learner’s clothing is unsuitable, parents may be contacted to assist. We aim to handle these matters discreetly and respectfully.

Note: This dress code may be updated from time to time. Parents will be notified of significant changes.
